Though Windows Vista was only introduced -- to tepid reviews and a host of compatibility issues -- two years ago, Microsoft has already prepared a beta version of its replacement: Windows 7, which Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is calling “the right product for the right time.” The beta version of the operating system will be available tomorrow at

The software giant says the new version of Windows will address concerns related to slow boot times and high laptop battery usage -- both of which kept users of older Windows systems such as 2000 and XP from switching to Vista.
What do you think? Is Microsoft about to hit a home run, or just complicate things further by introducing a whole new OS to compete with Vista and XP?
