Windows 7: Microsoft's Road To Recovery?

Saturday, January 10, 2009 Unknown 0 Comments

Though Windows Vista was only introduced -- to tepid reviews and a host of compatibility issues -- two years ago, Microsoft has already prepared a beta version of its replacement: Windows 7, which Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is calling “the right product for the right time.” The beta version of the operating system will be available tomorrow at microsoft.com/windows7.

The software giant says the new version of Windows will address concerns related to slow boot times and high laptop battery usage -- both of which kept users of older Windows systems such as 2000 and XP from switching to Vista.
What do you think? Is Microsoft about to hit a home run, or just complicate things further by introducing a whole new OS to compete with Vista and XP?
